A Message from the ISSFAL Secretary- October 11, 2023

Dear all,

Very sadly we have to report the passing of long time ISSFAL member John Paul SanGiovanni.

John Paul had a long and distinguished career in our field, in addition to being a regular contributor at many ISSFAL meetings,  the many awards he received included the second ever Norman Salem Jr ISSFAL Early Career Award in 2010. John Paul will be sadly missed by his many friends, colleagues and collaborators. Please see  https://www.tributearchive.com/obituaries/29295537/john-paul-sangiovanni.

Best wishes,
Peter Clough
Honorary Secretary ISSFAL

The Seventh Statement ‘Omega-3 fatty acids during pregnancy to prevent preterm birth’  was announced on September 30, 2022.  Following many years of investigation, there is strong evidence that a proportion of preterm births can be prevented by increasing maternal dietary omega-3 long chain polyunsaturated fatty acid (LCPUFA) intake during pregnancy. You may view the statement by clicking here.

Depending on your ISSFAL membership status, there may be a charge to access these statements. ISSFAL Members have complimentary access to PLEFA.
